The open water offer

The UK’s open water swimming scene has rapidly expanded in recent years, with thousands of non-affiliated adult swimmers participating in mass-participation events, triathlons, and recreational swims.

These swimmers often engage regularly with swimming but remain outside of Swim England's club structure due to perceived barriers such as:

• Lack of competitive aspiration

• No access to local Masters clubs

• Limited relevance of existing Swim England offerings (currently only County, Regional and National events)

Yet, many of these individuals train consistently, track performance, and are motivated by fitness goals and measurable progression.
